Palms Damaged from Coconut  Rhinoceros Beetle

The Coconut Rhinoceros Beetle damaged several mature Chinese Fan palms at the corner of Kamehameha Highway and Kuahelani Avenue. The destructive pest bores into palms and feeds on the soft tissue of its crown. Damage to the fan palms was severe, and complete removal is required to help in control the pest spread. Removal will begin on December 11, 2023.
