BWS: Urgent Update on Mauka Water UPDATED

The Board of Water Supply (BWS) strongly urges Mililani Mauka residents to continue to reduce their water use wherever possible.

The BWS needs to replace a broken pump at the Mililani 994’ Reservoir by Mililani Recreation Center No. 7 and is currently relying on mobile pumping equipment to move water through its system.

  • The equipment helps provide water to the upper areas of Mililani Mauka.
  • The pump cannot transport the same volume of water as the station’s pump.
  • Also, due to the loud noise it emits, the BWS is running the mobile pump from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. only.
  • Less water than normal is being pumped daily to the upper area reservoirs.
  • This could result in lower-than-normal water pressures and even loss of service to some customers.

For now, the BWS needs area residents to decrease their water demand to help keep reservoirs filled.  Residents in Mililani Mauka are asked to use water for essential needs only — cooking, drinking, and personal hygiene – from now through the weekend.  Please postpone other water uses – watering lawns, washing cars, etc.—until further notice.

The BWS apologizes for the inconvenience from the pumping equipment noise and appreciates the community’s cooperation and understanding while we work to resolve the issue.

Information about this situation is posted on our website at https://www.boardofwatersupply.com/mainbreaks under “Community Advisories.”

Aloha~

The Board of Water Supply (BWS) is grateful for your efforts to help us notify Mililani Mauka residents about our request to conserve water the last 2 weeks!

Good news!  Our reservoir levels are back to where they need to be. The BWS is ending the conservation request and would like to express our appreciation to the community. Their continued cooperation and help to reduce water demand ensured continuity of water service at adequate pressures in Mililani Mauka.

Please kindly share with them the below messsage with our many thanks.

Please let us know if you have questions.

Mahalo and have a pleasant day,

~Tracy
